So, what actually sets soft-tip and steel-tip darts apart?

The primary difference comes down to the equipment: the tip of the dart and the board itself. Steel-tip darts use metal points and are thrown into traditional sisal or bristle boards. Because the darts physically embed themselves in the material, scores are typically tracked by hand. This is the classic version of the game used in professional tournaments worldwide, and the darts are usually slightly heavier, which many players find provides a more stable and controlled flight.Steel-tip darts have metal tips and are thrown at a classic sisal or bristle dartboard. The darts stick in the board, and the points are usually counted manually. Steel-tip darts are considered the traditional version and are also played in major professional tournaments. The darts are usually a bit heavier, which gives many players a smoother and more controlled throwing experience.

Soft-tip darts, conversely, use plastic tips and are played on electronic boards. The biggest advantage here is that the board automatically tracks every hit and updates the score instantly, so you don't have to worry about the math. These darts are generally lighter, and thanks to the automated scoring and various built-in game modes, they are a fantastic entry point for beginners.Soft-tip darts, on the other hand, have plastic tips. They are played on an electronic dartboard, which automatically registers hits and displays the scores directly, eliminating the need for manual scoring. Soft-tip darts are generally lighter than steel-tip darts, and the electronic scoring system and various game modes make soft-tip darts particularly beginner-friendly.
