These new tournaments are designed to evolve the original MERKUR Masters concept, which previously stood as one of the most significant national Counter-Strike events by bridging the gap between rising amateurs and seasoned pros.
Through this collaboration, BIG will organize six Counter-Strike 2 Cups every two months. These will take place on the BIG Club via Faceit, which is currently the fastest-growing and largest CS2 hub in the DACH region with over 115,000 active members. The MERKUR Cash Cups add a fresh, high-stakes layer of competition to the monthly prize hunts already available to the community.
The primary objective here is to provide long-term support for the German eSports scene by ensuring players have access to a competitive environment that is professional, secure, and strictly fair.
The launch of the MERKUR Cash Cups signals MERKUR's intent to be a driving force in eSports, blending digital innovation with entertainment and fair play. This move demonstrates a clear ambition to influence modern leisure trends and connect meaningfully with a younger generation of gamers.
